Scholarships

Apart from students loans and grants, there are a number of scholarships and funding opportunities available for nurses to help support their career goals.  Below is a compiled list of scholarships ranging from $500-$2500.

Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship

Applicants must demonstrate financial need and attend an accredited school of nursing.  All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter (See Librarian).  However, no affiliation with DAR is necessary.  The award amounts is $1,000. Applications are available by written request and must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Exceptional Nurse

This is for nursing students with a disability, this scholarship will provide a $250-500 award.  Both graduate and undergraduate students can apply and must have demonstrated a desire to work with others who have disabilities.

Bureau of Health Professions Nursing Scholarship

Health Resources and Services Administration is offering full or part-time nursing students who are currently enrolled or accepted into any level of nursing program scholarships.  Students must U.S. citizens or nationals and be willing to commit to at least two years of service at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses. The award will cover the costs of tuition, fees, books and give students an additional monthly stipend.

National Black Nurses Association Scholarships

African American nursing students who are current members of the NBNA, currently enrolled in a nursing program, and have at least one year of school remaining in their BSN, ADN, diploma or LPN/LVN nursing programs qualify for this scholarship.  Applicants will need to complete an essay, provide transcripts and get letters of recommendation to apply for the award.

Greta James Nursing Scholarship

In remembrance of Greta James, ScrubShopper will award two $2,500 scholarships to nursing students.  Candidates for these scholarships will be currently attending or enrolled to attend a nursing school.

TYLENOL® Health Professionals Scholarship

Applicants to this scholarship program must be pursuing an undergraduate course of study.  wards are given out in the amounts of $10,000 and $1,000.

National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration

This scholarship has been established in memory of Stephanie Carroll, long-time valued NADONA employee.  It is awarded to a nursing student enrolled in an accredited nursing program who has chosen Long Term Care or Geriatrics as their practice area after graduation.   Nursing students in an undergraduate or graduate program are also eligible to apply for this scholarship.
